The plot of the film takes place in the early 1970s in a real house in Garford, Connecticut, where the Perron family lives. Parents, Roger and Carolyn Perron, turn to paranormal researchers Ed and Lorraine Warren for help in desperation. The Warrens are taken in to investigate and soon find the house cursed with a sinister spirit bent on bloodshed and misery.
