The main character, Chris Washington (played by Daniel Kaluuya), an African American, goes with her white friend, Rose, to her parents' country house for the weekend. At first, everything seems perfect, but as the vespers and family dinners unfold, Chris begins to notice strange and disturbing things.

The behavior of Rose's family, especially her parents, is becoming increasingly suspicious and unpleasant.
