James Boswell - Biography

James was born on 29 October 1740 in Ayrshire, Scotland, the son of a wealthy judge. He spent the next few decades traveling in Europe and North America, while actively keeping diaries and recording his impressions. However, his most famous creation was the biography "The Life of Samuel Johnson," which he began writing in 1773 and completed after Johnson's death in 1784.
