Playing Gerald" is a tense psychological thriller in which Stephen King once again demonstrates his skill in creating an atmosphere of fear and inevitability. The main character, Geraldine, is trapped in a remote house after her husband, trying to ignite passion in their relationship, connects her with the bed as part of a sex game. But when her husband unexpectedly dies of a heart attack, Geraldine finds herself alone, without help and without hope of salvation. In this confined space, not only physical, but also psychological horrors begin to haunt her. The novel explores themes of loneliness, fear and inner destruction, and shows how the heroine fights her own demons in order to survive.
