Yasunari was born on June 11, 1899 in Osaka, Japan. His family was educated and wealthy, and he received an excellent education. In his early years he developed an interest in literature and writing, which was the starting point for his future career.

After graduating from high school, he entered the University of Tokyo. He studied French literature and translated the works of Western writers into Japanese. This allowed him to familiarize himself with the literary traditions of Europe, which greatly influenced his own work.

Yasunari Kawabata began his literary career in 1927 when his first short story was published. He was a member of the Young Literature (Wakai bungaku) movement, which sought innovation and experimentation in Japanese literature. His first works were written in the spirit of modernism and differed from traditional Japanese literary styles.

Yasunari's most famous works include the novel "The Snow of Wanderings" ("Yukiguni"), which tells about the dramatic fate of a hero caught between two cultures - Japanese and Western. His other notable works include "The Thousand Cranes" ("Senbazuru") and "The Star and Death of Isei Kamii" ("Hoshi to Shura"). His style is distinguished by a deep lyricism and attention to the details of nature and human relations.
