Wilhelm Wordsworth - Biography

Wordsworth Biography: Life, Creativity and Contribution to Romanticism

William Wordsworth is a name associated with great poetry and romanticism in English literature. His poetry reflects the beauty of nature, inspiration from life and a deep sense of human nature. In this biography, we look at key moments in his life, his influence on world literature and his most famous poems.

William was born on April 7, 1770 in Cumberland, England. His childhood was marked by close contact with nature and beautiful views of Lake Derwentwater and the surrounding hills. These impressions and experiences became an important source of inspiration for his future poetry.

After studying in the city of Hawksged, he entered the University of Cambridge, where he studied classical literature and philosophy. However, his real teacher became nature, and he spent a lot of time exploring the landscapes of the lake and mountains.

In 1791 Wordsworth made a long journey through Europe, including France and Switzerland. These journeys were an important stage in his personal and artistic development. He met other literary geniuses such as Samuel Taylor Coleridge and deepened his perception of the world.

Wilhelm Wordsworth's most famous works are poems inspired by nature and human nature. One of the most famous poems is The Poem of Loneliness (Lines Composed a Few Miles Above Tintern Abbey), where he describes his impressions of returning to nature after a long absence. This work has become one of the symbols of romanticism and emphasizes the influence of nature on the state of mind of a person.
