Robert Frost - Biography

Robert Lee was born on March 26, 1874 in San Francisco, California, USA. In his youth he moved to New Hampshire, where he spent most of his life. His passion for nature and the countryside, as well as the influence of new English literature, became important elements of his late poetry.

Frost published his first verse in 1894 in a local newspaper. His first book of poetry, A Boy's Will, was published in 1913 and received critical acclaim. This book shows the influence of romanticism and realism, but already there is a theme of nature and human relations, which will become characteristic of Frost.

Frost continued to write and publish poetry, and in 1914 he published his second collection, The Lead Road (North of Boston), which brought him great success. Famous poems such as "The Road Not Taken" and "Mending Wall" appeared in this book, which became classics of American literature.
