Jorge Francisco Isidoro Luis was born on August 24, 1899 in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in a family of immigrants from Spain. Since childhood, he was surrounded by books, which had a huge impact on his future work.

After receiving his home education, Luis attended the National College in Buenos Aires before attending the University in Geneva, Switzerland. There he studied literature, philosophy and languages, which shaped his mental arsenal and philosophical view of the world.

Jorge Luis began writing his first poems as a teenager. He was greatly influenced by literature, philosophy and mythology, which was reflected in his early works. He also became acquainted with the work of authors such as William Shakespeare, Franz Kafka and James Joyce, which played an important role in shaping his style and theme.

However, real fame came to Jorge Luis Borges with the publication of his book Ficciones in 1944. This book became a manifesto of magical realism and philosophical literature. In it, he explored the themes of reality, illusion, time and metaphysics through his unusual stories and paradoxes. "Ficuses" brought Luis Borges worldwide recognition and respect from the literary community.

Further works such as "Labyrinths" (Los laberintos) and "Alejandria" (El Aleph) continued to inspire and amaze readers. He created many virtuoso texts that caused laughter, but at the same time forced to reflect on the nature of reality and the meaning of human existence.
