John Updike - Biography

After graduating from high school, he entered Harvard University, where he studied English literature. His education at Harvard was the foundation for a future literary career. He also worked in the student newspaper, where he began publishing his first articles and stories.

In 1956, John released his first novel, The Poorhouse Fair, which received positive reviews from critics. His next novel, "Rabbit, Run" (1960), became a real literary event and brought Updike worldwide recognition. The novel described the life of an ordinary person in American society and earned the status of a classic.
