The fourteenth Dalai Lama was Tenzin Gyatso, born July 6, 1935 in Tibet. His childhood was ordinary, but that changed when the search for a new Dalai Lama was conducted in 1939. Believing seekers came to Tenzin's home, and the little boy was recognized as the embodiment of the Dalai Lama. He was only two years old when he was proclaimed Dalai Lama XIV.

The Dalai became the spiritual leader of Tibet, which unites Tibetan Buddhists and plays a key role in the spiritual life of the country. He is the head of the Gelugpa Buddhist school and serves as a mediator between spiritual and worldly authority. His teachings on kindness, compassion and nonviolence have an impact on millions around the world.

In 1950, the People's Republic of China invaded Tibet, and the Dalai faced a difficult choice between resistance and peace efforts. In 1959, after an unsuccessful attempt at rebellion against Chinese occupation, he was forced to flee Tibet and settle in India, where he still resides. In exile, the Dalai continues his peace efforts to draw world attention to the situation in Tibet and promote the settlement of the conflict.

Dalai Lama is also known as an activist for peace and tolerance. He was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1989 for his efforts to peacefully resolve the conflict in Tibet and for his struggle for human rights. It advocates dialogue, non-violence and peaceful coexistence between different religions and cultures. His teachings on compassion and peace have an inspiring effect on many supporters.

The Dalai continues to serve as a symbol of hope, peace and mercy for millions around the world. His sermons, lectures and books have been translated into many languages and continue to inspire people to explore spirituality, compassion and the importance of peace. His legacy remains relevant in an era of global challenge and reminds us of the need for kindness and peace in the world.
