Charlotte Roche - Biography

Rocher (1740-1806) is a name that is associated with the power of the word and the struggle for women's rights. She was a French writer, actress and feminist whose writing left an indelible mark on the history of literature and social movements. Charlotte was born on April 17, 1740 in Paris, France, in the family of an official and actress. Charlotte began her career as an actress and initially gained recognition on stage. In 1788, she published her most famous novel, Julie (Julie, or New Eloise), which became a bestseller and gained worldwide fame.

Her works, including Juliet, Preludes, and Marie, addressed themes of love, passion, sexuality, and women's rights. She championed gender equality and discussed the importance of education for women.

Charlotte Roche was a huge influence on world literature and feminism. Her writings became the first feminist novels where she raised important social and cultural issues. Her style and frank discussions of sexuality and feminine nature made her a brave and advanced writer of her time.

Charlotte was married twice and had two children, however her love life was complicated. She faced personal and family difficulties, including a dramatic divorce. Her relationships and personal life were often subject to interest and controversy.
