Charles Dickens - Biography
John Guffam Dickens (1812-1870) is a name that is associated with the golden era of English literature and the struggle for social justice. The following years were a period of intense creativity for Dickens, and his novels such as "David Copperfield," "Great Expectations," "Martin Chuzdykh" and "Dombey and Son" gained worldwide popularity. His works have been translated into numerous languages and continue to be read and studied around the world.
Charles was a passionate advocate for the rights of the poor and a promoter of social justice. His writings often revealed the lives of the impoverished and oppressed, and exposed the problems of education, health and housing in 19th-century England.
