Carol Dweck - Biography

Dweck (1928-2006) is a name associated with a fearless and powerful woman whose contributions to the struggle for women's rights and equality have left an indescribable impact on society. In this biography, we look at her life, work and legacy.

Carol was born on January 6, 1928 in Long Beach, California. Her early years were marred by gender discrimination, and her experience was the inspiration for her future struggle for equality. She received her bachelor's and master's degrees in psychology from a university in California, Los Angeles.

In 1963, after graduating from university and working in the academic field, Carol began to actively participate in the civil rights movement and the struggle for women's rights. She became one of the most important figures in this struggle and was elected president of the National Association of Women (NOW) in 1966.

Her leadership of NOW has earned her widespread recognition and support in the fight for equal rights for women. Carol has been a vocal advocate for pay equity, abortion access, anti-harassment and other women's issues. Her passion and determination made her one of the key figures in the United States women's movement.

In addition to her active struggle for women's rights, Carol Dweck was also a famous writer. Her book "The Feminine Mystique" (1963) was a bestseller and is considered one of the most important texts in the history of feminism. In this book, she explored the "female secret" and revealed the flaws and limitations women faced at the time.

Her work also includes the books The Second Stage (1981) and The Fountain of Age (1993), in which she dealt with the themes of aging and the impact of feminism on society.
