Angela graduated from various universities, including Brandeis University, the University of Philadelphia and the University of Hamburg in Germany, where she studied Marxism and philosophy. Her education became the basis for her further activist and academic efforts.

In the 1960s, Angela Davis joined the civil rights movement and became active in the Communist Party USA. She took part in many actions and protests, fighting for equality and against racial discrimination. Her activism led to her becoming one of the most visible and influential figures in the American human rights movement.

In 1970, Angela was arrested and charged with attempted murder after an armed attack on a court in Marine County, California. Her arrest sparked international protests and the "Free Angela Davis" movement, which called for her release.
