Andrei was born on September 28, 1899 in the village of Voroshilov (now Belgorod Oblast, Russia). His parents were peasants, and his childhood was spent in a village atmosphere, which deeply influenced his views and work.

He began studying at a local parish school, but soon switched to correspondence studies at Moscow University, where he studied philosophy and literature. During this period, he began to write poetry and prose, which was the beginning of his literary path.

The first publication was the story "Evening at the Shinkevichs" (1923), which was published in the literary magazine "Red Baron." He continued to actively write, creating works that reflected the life and tragedy of ordinary people. His first book, the short stories "Lilies of the Valley and Swan Geese" (1925), was well received by readers and critics.

However, Platonov achieved real fame with the publication of the novel Chevengur (1927). This work, describing the fate of poor peasants in the conditions of the revolution and the Civil War, became one of the most important literary events of its time. The novel was distinguished by its deep philosophy and metaphysical reflections.

The most famous works were the stories "Horseshoe" (1931) and the novel "Pit" (1939). In them, he continued to touch upon important social and philosophical topics, creating works that are now considered classics of Russian literature.
