Deal with the devil (2000)

Johnny Favreau plays the role of Jack, a talented but unsuccessful writer who suffers from a lack of attention and success. In one moment of despair, he meets a mysterious man named Lucifer (played by Al Pacino), who offers him a deal: in exchange for his soul, Lucifer promises Jack a brilliant career and all the desired achievements.

At first, Jack is distrustful of this proposal, but when his life continues to slide into hopelessness, he agrees to a deal. Soon he realizes that the contract with the devil has its consequences, and his life becomes captured by a whirlwind of inexplicable and terrible events. Jack has to pay a heavy price for his successes, and his soul is under threat.

As he dives into the world of dealing with the devil, Jack realizes that his desires are turning into a nightmare, and he tries to find a way to break out of this sinister contract. He reaches out to his longtime friend Harley (played by Jeremy Strong) and tries to gather evidence that his deal with Lucifer was illegal and invalid.

But time passes, and Jack is less and less likely to save his soul and return his life back to the right path. The film explores the theme of human greed, ambition and the consequences that can arise when making a deal with the devil himself.
