Shine (1980)

The plot of the film takes place in the remote hotel complex "Overlook," located in the mountains of Colorado. Jack Torrance, a writer and former teacher, is hired as a hotel caretaker during the winter with his wife Wendy and son Danny. However, immediately after the family arrives at the scene, strange and frightening events begin to occur.

Danny discovers his mysterious ability, called "glow," which allows him to see things that the others cannot see. At the same time, Jack begins to descend into madness under the influence of sinister forces present at the hotel, and gradually loses his mind. Under the influence of the hotel, he becomes more and more aggressive and dangerous for his family.

Wendy tries to protect herself and her son from Jack, who plunges into an increasingly deep psychosis, becoming a toy in the hands of the dark forces awakened by the hotel.
