Schindler's list (1993)

The film takes place during the Holocaust during World War II. Oskar Schindler, a German entrepreneur, comes to Nazi-occupied Krakow with the goal of using cheap Jewish labor for his factory. At first, he sees this only as an opportunity to earn money, but gradually his attitude towards Jews changes.

Influenced by his Jewish accountant Itz Stern, Schindler gradually realizes the horrors of the Holocaust and decides to use his position and his resources to save as many Jews as possible from death. He buys them from the Nazis, hiding behind the need for labor for his factory, and organizes work and shelter for them.

Through his personal list, known as "Schindler's List," he convinces the Nazis of the importance of preserving these workers, when in fact his goal is to save them from death. As a result of his heroic act, Schindler saves the lives of more than 1,200 Jews, risking his own life and welfare.
