Doubt (2008)

The plot centers on Sister Aloicia, the strict and selfless headmistress of a Catholic school in 1964. Her confidence and determination are tested when the relationship between her and the relatively new chaplain, Father Flynn, begins to develop into a close and mutually distrustful friendship. When Sister James, a young and impressionable teacher, begins to suspect Flynn's father of inappropriate behavior with one of the students, serious doubts and conflict arise.

Weighing her faith and principles, Sister Aloicia is forced to face her own biases and doubts as she decides whether to believe Sister James' words or support Father Flynn. In their confrontation, not only the question of sexual harassment is clarified, but also about power, faith and moral values.

The film explores the theme of doubt and its impact on our behaviour and decisions. Each character encounters their own mental qualities and religious principles, coming to the conclusion that true justice may not be as simple as it seems.
