Theatre of the Absurd

The theatre of the absurd often depicts characters stuck in absurd and ridiculous situations, where they pointlessly try to find meaning or justification for their existence. Character dialogue can be meaningless or devoid of logic, and scenes can be wild and fantastical.

The works of the theater of the absurd evoke a sense of disorientation and bewilderment among the viewer, forcing him to think about the meaning of life and the meaninglessness of being. This direction is often associated with the work of playwrights such as Samuel Beckett, Eugene Ionesco and Harold Pinter.
