Comparison of psychological thriller and ordinary thriller

Conventional thrillers and psychological thrillers, while belonging to one vast thriller genre, have certain differences in structure, plot, and emotional impact on the reader. Below is a comparison of these two forms of thriller:

1. Plot and approach to tension:

• Regular thriller: Often focuses on the events, intrigue and actions of the heroes. Tension builds on exciting events, danger and the race against time.

• Psychological thriller: The main emphasis is on the inner world of the characters, their emotions, thoughts and psychological states. Tension is built on psychological walkers, psychological games and internal conflicts.

2. Study objective:

• Regular thriller: Most often focuses on solving a riddle, solving a crime or preventing a disaster.

• Psychological thriller: Explores the inner world of the characters, their personality, motives and psychological trauma. The goal is to uncover psychological secrets and solve complex psychological mysteries.

3. Emotional impact:

• The usual thriller: Probably will cause adrenaline and tension in the reader, concentrating on external dangers and actions.

• Psychological thriller: Often affects the emotional state of the reader, causing a feeling of anxiety, misunderstanding and even horror from internal conflicts and psychological games of the characters.

Both of these genres have their own unique characteristics and attract their own audience. Conventional thrillers focus on dynamic action and external hazards, while psychological thrillers revolve around internal psychological states and conflicts.
