Yves Saint Laurent - Biography
Saint-Laurent entered the Paris Fashion Institute, where his talents were noticed. At the age of 17, he began working for Christian Dior, a celebrated French fashion designer. This was the beginning of his career in the world of haute couture.After the death of Christian Dior in 1957, Yves was appointed creative director of the Dior fashion house, becoming the youngest designer to lead the haute couture fashion house. Under his leadership, the Trapèze collection was created, which received rave reviews.
In 1961, Yves and his partner Pierre Bergé founded their own fashion house, Yves Saint Laurent.
