William Wardsworth - Biography

Wardsworth: A name that stands at the head of the Romanticism movement and has become synonymous with sublime poetry inspired by nature and human emotions. In this biography, we will immerse ourselves in the fascinating world of this outstanding English poet, explore his life, creativity and influence on world literature.

William was born on 7 April 1770 in Cockermouth, Cumberland, England. His parents, John and Anne Cookson, were well-off people, and William received a good education in the schools of Cockermouth and Hawkseden.

From an early age he showed interest in literature and nature. His early poems and recordings reflected inspiration from the surrounding nature, a key feature of his future work.

After graduation, William went on a trip to Europe, where he became acquainted with the culture and literature of different countries. However, the most significant moment was his stay in France, where he became acquainted with the ideas of the French Revolution, which had a profound influence on his worldview.

Upon his return to England, William Wardsworth found his true vocation in poetry, where he became a founding member of the romantic movement. His poems were distinguished by sublime inspiration from nature and deep reflections on the human soul. According to Wardsworth, nature was his inspiration and teacher, and he urged readers to pay attention to her beauty and greatness.

One of Wardsworth's most famous works was the Lyric Ballads poetry collection, which he co-wrote with Samuel Taylor Coleridge. This collection, published in 1798, was an important event in the history of English poetry. It featured poems dealing with mundane themes but written with deep emotion and sublimity.
