Vasily Kandinsky - Biography

Kandinsky began his education at the law faculty of Moscow University, but soon decided to devote himself to art. He entered the Moscow Art Academy, where he studied painting and graphics. Subsequently, he taught at this academy and developed his unique artistic style.

At the beginning of his artistic career, Vasily worked in the style of impressionism and gradually moved to expressionism. However, his true artistic discovery came in the early 1910s, when he became one of the pioneers of abstractionism. His works began to be abstract compositions, freed from the image of the visible world.

Vasily not only created abstract works of art, but also developed the theory of abstractionism. He believed that art should strive for abstraction in order to express spiritual harmony and the inner world of man. His book "Spiritual and Art" (1910) became an important manifesto of abstractionism and influenced artists worldwide.

Vasily's works were distinguished by bright colors, abstract forms and expressive compositions. His works, such as "Composition VII" and "Yellow-Red-Blue," are considered classics of abstractionist art. His influence is felt in the work of many artists and movements, including abstract expressionism and abstract geometricism.

Vasily Kandinsky was a man of deep spiritual life. He was a member of the Theosophical Society and believed in the importance of spiritual development. In 1921, after the Russian Revolution, he emigrated to Germany and continued his artistic activities in Bavaria.
