Susan Collins - Biography

Her popular Hunger Games series of novels won the hearts of millions of readers and became a bestseller around the world. Susan was born on August 11, 1962 in Hartford, Connecticut, USA. She was the youngest of four children in the family. Her father was in the military and her mother worked at the school. From childhood, Susan showed an interest in reading and creativity, and this became the first steps on her literary path.

The family moved frequently because of their father's job, and this gave Susan the experience of adapting to different environments and circumstances. The experience was an important inspiration for her future writing, in which she often explored themes of survival and adaptation to changing conditions.

Susan received a bachelor's degree from Harvard University, where she studied creative writing. Her studies were saturated with the study of literature and art, which pushed her to develop her own style and voice in literature. During this time she also began writing poetry and short stories.

After graduation, Susan worked in various fields, including television and drama. She also wrote children's books under the pseudonym Catherine Connors. Despite a successful career, Susan Collins' real breakthrough came with the publication of her novel The Hunger Games in 2008.

The Hunger Games series of novels became a global phenomenon and immediately gained popularity among readers of different ages. The tale of a society where teenagers are forced to engage in deadly games to survive has attracted attention for its complex storyline and deep moral questions. The saga consists of three books: "The Hunger Games," "The Burning Torch" and "Mockingjay."
