King is a name that has become synonymous with the horror genre and is considered one of the most successful and influential authors in the world of literature. Stephen Edwin was born on September 21, 1947 in Portland, Maine, USA. He was the second son of Ruthie and Donald King. As a child, his family moved from city to city in search of work, and this had a significant impact on his future work.

Stephen has shown an interest in writing since childhood. He began writing short stories and poetry at a young age and even sold his work to his friends. This was the beginning of his path to a literary career.

After leaving school, Stephen entered the University of Maine, where he studied English literature. During this time he continued to write and published several stories in student publications.

After graduation, Stephen worked as an English teacher and wrote in his spare time. His first publication of the actual book, "Carrie," was released in 1974. This novel about a girl with telekinetic abilities became a great success and brought Stephen his first fame.

After the release of "Carrie," Stephen continued to write and publish novels. Soon, his works such as "Blange" and "The Shining" became bestsellers and attracted millions of readers. His ability to create a terrifying atmosphere and multifaceted characters made him one of the most respected authors in the horror genre.
