Philippa was born on January 9, 1954 in Knighton, Berkshire, UK. Her childhood was spent in a middle-class family, and she was the eldest child. Already at an early age, she became interested in history and reading, and she dreamed of becoming a writer.

After leaving school, Philippa went to the University of Sussex, where she studied literature and history. She also completed a master's degree in history at the University of Edinburgh. Education and historical research provided an important foundation for her future career as a historical writer.

Philippa Gregory's first publication was the novel "Land of White Women" ("Wideacre"), released in 1987. This novel was the first step towards her recognition in the literary world, and it was the beginning of a trilogy including "The Land of White Women," "The Land of Gifts" ("The Favored Child") and "The Land of the Dead" ("Meridon").

However, real success came to Philippe with the publication of the novel "The Other Boleyn Girl" in 2001. This novel follows the fate of Anne Boleyn, one of the most mysterious and influential women in English history. The book became a bestseller and earned acclaim from readers and critics. It was also adapted into a successful film.
