Osamu Tezuka - Biography
Tezuka was born on November 3, 1928 in Takarazuka, Japan. His childhood was affected by the events of World War II, and he experienced hard times with his family. Already from an early age he showed interest in art and drawing.After graduating from high school, Osamu entered Osaka University, where he studied medicine. His education in medical school subsequently played a role in shaping his style in manga, anatomical accuracy, and understanding of the human body.
Although Osamu studied medicine, his passion for drawing and comics was undeniable. He began his mangaki career in 1946, when his first manga series "Makoto-chan" (Makoto-chan) was published in the school newspaper. This was just the beginning of his journey in the comic book world.
In 1952, Osamu created the character of Astrovers (Astro Boy), who became one of the most famous and recognizable characters in manga and animation in the world. Astrovers was a robot with human traits, and his adventures became extremely popular with readers.
Osamu Tezuka had a huge impact on the development of manga and animation. His innovative drawing techniques, storytelling art and deep themes in his work made him a true pioneer of the genre. He stood at the origins of manga genres such as seinen and zosen, and helped shape the modern style of manga.
His creation, Astrovers, also had a huge impact on animation and became one of the symbols of Japanese animation (anime). The series "Astrovers" (Astro Boy), which was created on the basis of his manga, was the first anime series and made a significant contribution to the development of the animation industry.
