Mikhail was born on May 24, 1905 in the Don village of Vyakhirevo, in the Kuban, in a family of peasants. He was the fourth child in the family and grew up in the difficult conditions of peasant life at the beginning of the 20th century. These early years greatly influenced his later work, for he witnessed many events and learned about the life of ordinary people from the inside.

Sholokhov began his studies at a local school, and then entered the Rostov Polytechnic Institute, where he studied journalism. Even at a young age, he began to publish his first stories and articles in local newspapers, showing a talent for the word and literary expressiveness.

However, the real breakthrough in his career was his epic story "Quiet Don." This work, telling about the life of the Cossacks during the First World War and the Russian Revolution, immediately received great recognition both in the USSR and abroad. conducted an extensive study of the history and customs of the Don Cossacks in order to create an authentic and deep work.

For his contribution to world literature, Mikhail Sholokhov was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1965. This award confirmed his status as a great writer and recognized the importance of his work for the entire world community.

In addition to "Quiet Don," he created many other works, including "Virgin Soil Raised," "The Fate of a Man," "Eleven Moments of Spring" and many others. His work continues to inspire readers with its deep character psychology, pictorial descriptions of nature, and historical authenticity.
