Leonardo da Vinci - Biography

Vinci is a name that is associated with genius and universal abilities. He was a great Italian painter, scientist, inventor, architect and engineer of the Renaissance. In this biography, we take a look at Vinci's amazing life, his contributions to art, science and technology, and his legacy, which remains relevant and inspiring to us until today.

Leonardo was born on April 15, 1452 in a small town in Tuscany, Italy. He was the illegitimate son of the silversmith Pierre and the peasant lady Katerina. His generic name was Leonardo di Ser Piero da Vinci, meaning "Leonardo, son of Piero of Vinci." From an early age, Leonardo developed an interest in the world of art and science.

At the age of 15, Leonardo became a student in the workshop of the famous Florentine artist Andrea del Verrocchio. There he began to study the basics of painting, sculpture and anatomy. This period of study proved decisive in shaping his artistic skills and inquisitiveness.

Leonardo da became one of the greatest artists of the Renaissance and created many works of art that still amaze with their beauty and skill. His best known paintings include "The Mona Lisa" and "The Last Supper." "Mona Lisa" is considered one of the most famous and recognizable works of art in the world.

He also created many drawings, sketches and studies, proving his talent as a portrait painter, landscape artist and painter of historical and biblical subjects.

Leonardo was not only an artist, but also a self-taught scientist. He was an inquisitive researcher and conducted many scientific experiments and observations. His study of the anatomy of the human body was impressive and preceded many medical discoveries. His notes and drawings of anatomy proved a magnificent source of knowledge.
