Lee Child, real name James Grant, was born on October 29, 1954 in Coventry, UK. His childhood was spent in a poor neighborhood, and Lee felt an early need for shelter from everyday problems. Reading became for him not only a hobby, but also a way to immerse himself in other worlds and forget about the surrounding reality.

After leaving school, Lee attended the University of Sheffield, where he studied law. Upon graduation, he worked as a TV salesman, then served in the army and was even a participant in the filming of a short film. In 1995, after a successful career in the telecommunications industry, Lee decided to turn his life around and become a writer.

Lee Child's debut as a writer occurred in 1997 with the release of his first novel, Killing Floor, in which his famous character Jack Reacher appeared. This novel, about a former military policeman wandering the United States and solving tricky puzzles, was the beginning of a long and successful series.

Lee became famous for his skillfully constructed plots, intense action and charismatic protagonist. Books about Jack Richer became bestsellers and brought the author a loyal army of fans. In total, more than twenty Jack Reacher novels were produced, and each of them was greeted by readers with impatience and enthusiasm.
