John was born on December 12, 1929 in London, UK. His family life was difficult and John's early years proved unhappy. He described his childhood as unhappy and far from happy. His parents were divorced, and he spent much of his childhood in various orphanages.

John's education was not stable enough, but despite this, he developed an interest in literature and drama from an early age. His education included instruction in a number of schools, and he later attended King's School, but did not complete his studies there.

Throughout his life, John struggled for recognition in literary circles, and his breakthrough came with the publication of the play "Look Back in Anger" in 1956. This play, considered the beginning of an "angry young man" in British drama, was an important moment in the history of the theater.

"Anger" introduced a character named Jimmy Porter to the audience, who expressed frustration and dissatisfaction with the social and political norms of his time. This play became a kind of cry of rebellion and caused great attention of society and critics.

After the success of "Wrath," John went on to create works that explored complex themes such as social injustice, emotional angst, and moral dilemmas. His other notable works include "Potatoes Fried in Butter," "Iron and Tin" and "Fluffy White Clouds" ("The Entertainer").
