Jared Diamond - Biography

Diamonde is a name associated with intriguing studies in geography, history and anthropology. His work had a profound impact on understanding the origin and development of human civilizations. His book "Guns, Germs, and Steel: A Brief History of Human Society" (1997) became a global bestseller and upended the notion of why some societies flourished while others remained on the margins of history. In this book, Diamond presented a theory in which he explains differences in the development of human civilizations through the prism of geography, resource availability, and interaction with the environment. His reasoning has generated much discussion and research and remains important in the field of anthropology and history.

Jared has received numerous awards and recognitions for his work, including the Kraft Prize for Scientific Achievement in Geography. His books have been translated into a variety of languages and continue to influence scholars, historians, anthropologists, and nonfiction lovers around the world.
