Biography of Wallace - Life and Work of the Famous British Author of Detective Novels

Richard Horatio Edgar Wallace, known as Edgar Wallace, was born on April 1, 1875 in London, England. He was the eighth child in the family and grew up in relative poverty. Having lost his father early, he began working at a young age and later became a journalist.

Edgar developed an interest in journalism and adventure. He worked as a correspondent and went on trips to various countries, from Russia to South Africa. These journeys and experiences became the inspiration for many of his future works.

Edgar's first book was the novel The Four Just Men, published in 1905. This novel, about a group of righteous people fighting for justice, attracted the attention of readers and became the starting point of his career as a writer. He subsequently wrote over 170 novels, including detective stories, thrillers and adventure stories.

A series of detective novels about Jason Thorne became one of the most famous and popular in the work of Edgar. This charismatic detective investigates complex crimes and mysteries, and his adventures are shrouded in intrigue and mystery.

One of Edgar's most famous works was the novel "The Ringer," which was adapted into theatrical productions and films. This work is considered one of his masterpieces and the personification of the detective genre.
