During his scientific career, he began to write science fiction stories for the magazine "Amazing Stories." His stories of adventures in space and other worlds became popular with readers. In 1934, he published his first novel, The Skylark of Space, with author Doc Smith.
E. E. Smith gained the greatest fame and recognition thanks to his series of novels about the "Star Kings" ("Lensman series"). This epic saga of the struggle between good and evil on a galactic scale has become a cult in the world of science fiction.
