Dasheel (May 20, 1894 - January 10, 1961) is a name associated with the golden era of American crime fiction. He was one of the most influential and popular detective writers of the 20th century. His first novel, "The Thin Line" ("Red Harvest"), published in 1929, was an instant success and established him as an important detective writer.
