Charlotte Brontë - Biography

Brontë (1816-1855) is a name that will forever remain in the history of English literature as a symbol of strength, resilience and skill. In this biography, we look at the life and work of Charlotte Brontë, her impact on literature and society, and why her works remain relevant and important until today.

Charlotte was born on 21 April 1816 in the small village of Thornton in West Yorkshire, England. She was the eldest of three sisters who became famous English women writers: Emily and Ann Brontë. Their childhood was marked by poverty and the loss of their parents at an early age.

Charlotte and her sisters were educated at an all-girls school in Coaldfield, but the sisters' family difficulties and illnesses often interrupted their studies. Nevertheless, Charlotte continued to form, reading many books and developing her literary talent.

Charlotte became known as the author of a number of magnificent novels that left an indescribable mark on literature. Her debut novel, "Jane Eyre," was published under the pseudonym Carr Bell in 1847 and immediately attracted the attention of readers and critics. The novel follows orphan Jane Eyre and her complicated journey to independence and happiness. He was received enthusiastically for his realism and complex characters.

Charlotte Brontë's next novel was "Shirley" (1849), the story of a young teacher who comes to a grim and mysterious homestead. "Shirley" has also been widely acclaimed for its virtuoso prose and analysis of social issues.

In 1853 she published "Willette," a novel inspired by her own experience as a teacher in Brussels. This novel has a dark atmosphere and deep inner monologues of the main character.
