Anton Pavlovich was born on January 29, 1860 in Taganrog, a small town in southern Russia. He was the third of six children in the family of a poor merchant. The early years were not easy, and the family experienced financial difficulties after the bankruptcy of his father.

Nevertheless, even in childhood he showed amazing literary abilities. He began to write his own stories and poems, which were often published in the local newspaper. His talent was noticed by teachers, and he received a scholarship to enter Moscow University, where he studied medicine.

Anton's medical career was successful, and he worked as a doctor in various regions of Russia, including the Far East. This period of his life left a deep mark on his literary work, as he observed and analyzed various aspects of human life and disease.

Chekhov began his literary career in the 1880s, publishing short stories in various literary magazines. His first works were written in the genre of humorous prose, but over time he moved on to more serious and deep topics.

Chekhov became a master of the short story form and created more than 600 stories, including such famous works as "Steppe," "Lady with a Dog," "Cherry Orchard" and many others. His style was noted for simplicity and naturalness, and his analysis of human psychology became his main literary technique.
