Anais Ning - Biography

Ning is a name associated with great works of literature and bold studies of sexuality and human relationships. Anais was born on February 21, 1903 in Neuilly-sur-Seine, France. She was a hereditary Frenchwoman and was born into a wealthy family. Her father, Joaquim Nin, was an artist, and her mother, Rosa Culler, was a pianist and singer. Anais's childhood was culturally intense and she was surrounded by art and music.

In 1914, the family moved to the United States due to World War I. This move was an important event in Anais's life and greatly influenced her future.
