John Rhys-Davies John Rhys-Davies was born on 5 May 1944 in Wellington, New Zealand. In his youth, his family moved to England, where he received his education. After leaving school, John entered the London Academy of Musical and Dramatic Arts (LAMDA), where he began to develop his acting talent.

After graduating from LAMDA, John Rhys-Davis began his film career and soon earned a reputation as one of the most talented and sought-after actors of his time.
